Feel Good Freebie Sites
Here are some of my favorite ways to make a difference without making a monetary contribution. If you’d like to see something included here, just let me know.
FreeRice http://www.freerice.com/ is a non-profit website run by the United Nations World Food Program who partners with the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. FreeRice has two goals: to provide education to everyone for free and to help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free. They are able to do this thru the generosity of the sponsors who advertise on their site. Your visit to their site means that somewhere in the world, a person is eating rice that you helped provide.
Support Our Troops – Let’s Say Thanks (program is sponsored by XEROX and XEROX.com
If you go to Let’s Say Thanks you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can’t pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services. They have a variety of cards (designed by children) and a variety of messages (or you can write your own) to chose from. Think how wonderful it would be if you could get everyone you to know to send one. It’s totally free and takes about 1 minute.
Animal Care – The Animal Rescue Site
Feed the Poor – The Hunger Site
Stop Child Abuse – The Child Health Site
Literacy – The Literacy Site
Breast Cancer – The Breast Cancer Site
